Experience

Barbi Appelquist
is a 14-year resident of Santa Monica and West Los Angeles, a two-time cancer survivor, a wife, and a mom to an 8-year old girl.

Professionally, I have extensive experience in legal analysis, business development, and community organizing. I have worked as a technology consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, a corporate lawyer with Glaser Weil & Shapiro, and as a nonprofit and community development lawyer with Public Counsel. My recent policy research has focused on runaway production and the Affordable Care Act. In my spare time, I train for half-marathons while raising funds for various cancer-related charities, including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Stand Up 2 Cancer, Camp Kesem, and LA Loves Alex's Lemonade Stand.
